Non calpestare gli artisti
Gli artisti sono interessati alla progressiva erosione dei loro diritti in quanto lavoratori?
Spesso conseguono una alta formazione pagata profumatamente, vengono riconosciuti come professionisti affermati, sono oggetti di publicazioni e recensioni, entrano negli archivi della storia dell’arte, sono inseriti nell comunità artistica di riferimento, ma non riescono a vivere di questo lavoro, se non inventandosi mille modi “collaterali” per riciclare le loro fatiche. La politica e l’economia ha interesse al loro operato usandolo in diversi modi, ma non ha interesse a considerarli come interlocutore politico. Cosa significa questo contradditorio?
Le immagini che scorrono (ispirate a una recente protesta che ha visto l’occupazione di sedi istituzionali nel Wisconsin contro i tagli della spesa sociale), vengono accompagnate da un testo tratto dallo Statuto Sociale degli Artisti redatto dal Parlamento Europeo nel 2007.
Il video è stato realizzato con i danzatori della compagnia di teatro fisico Balletto Civile e girato all’interno del Teatro Due di Parma.

Are the artists interested in the progressive erosion of their rights as workers?
They often achieve an expensive higher education, they are recognized as successful professionals, are objects of publications and reviews, entering the archives of art history, they are included in the artistic communities of reference, but they can survive in this job, if not inventing a thousand "collateral" ways to recycle their labors. The politics and economics has an interest in their work by using it in different ways, but has no interest to consider them as a political subject.
The images that run in this video (inspired by a recent protest that saw the occupation of institutions in Wisconsin against cuts in social spending), are accompanied by a text from the Social Association of Artists drawn from the European Parliament in 2007.
The video was created with the dancers of the physical theater company
Civil Ballet and filmed in the Teatro Due of Parma.
